10 on the 10th

Meredith over at life at 7000 feet hosts a blog carnival each month.  She calls herself "listy" so the theme each month is simply a list of 10 things on the 10th.

Simple, right?  I always have big plans for 10 on the 10th each month, then all of a sudden it's the 15th....oops.

I was going to do a random list this month but Lola changed my mind this morning.

By 9:30 this morning, Lola had tried to take all of the below stuff outside with her.  Being the smart dog that she is, it just happened to be 10 things.

1.  My husband's shirt--Every morning when I let her out of the kennel she tries to grab anything she can to take downstairs with her.  Today she found Wayne's shirt (in case you're reading this Wayne, that's why we have a dirty clothes basket!)  If I'm awake enough, I grab it out of her mouth before she gets outside.  If I'm not, I end up chasing her around the yard trying to get my bra back (not kidding!)
2.  My slipper--She actually took it off my foot, walked over to the door and rang the bell like I'm really going to let her outside with my slipper!
3.  Leash--because you know, you she is going outside.
4.  Her rope--She tries this every day...
5.  Plastic cup
6.  Wood polish
7.  My shoe--She brought this down from upstairs too.  She put one on the stairs and tried to take the other outside.
8.  Rope ball
9.  Sponge--She can chew up a sponge in about 1.2 seconds flat.
10.  Towel

Lola is a hoarder, she already has a pile of junk in the yard including a towel, a Pepsi can and a ton of sticks!

So there you have it, my (lazy) 10 on the 10th list.

Head on over to Meredith's to see other lists!

  1. The dog we have now is the first "chewer" I've ever had. It drives me nuts.

  2. Lola sounds smart to me. Are you sure she's not a pack rat? Our big Golden Retriever doesn't retrieve anything, but she does steal. Socks, usually. And they end up coming out of one or the other end of her digestive tract. TMI? Anyhoo. We tend to just call that pair of socks a loss and throw away the victim. Or scoop it up into the trash, as the case may be. ;)

Just briefly read your side bar msg. So glad that your hubby is doing well. Must've been a terribly scary time.

  3. Too funny! We just have an outside dog and he is obsessed with sticks. Some mornings I wake up to a whole pile of them by the front door, so silly!

  4. 10 things--very funny. Our dog (a springer spaniel) has been known to dig through (and thus strew) the trash. I've never seen him take clothes or anything like that, but he did jump up and devour an entire apple pie a few years ago at Thanksgiving!

  5. Lola sounds a bit naughtier than Jack the Beagle. Will you still like me if I tell you that I'm secretly happy someone has a dog that is naughtier than ours?

Jack doesn't go after clothing in our house, but he *loves* the girls Polly Pocket and Barbie stuff and if it's edible he is all over it. We can't leave any food on the table (even for a few seconds) or the counters and if one of us leaves the pantry door open on accident, then Jack will steal whatever he sees. Wow. Want a beagle to keep Lola company?

PS--the idea of you chasing Lola to get your bra back is FUNNY!

  6. I always say that God made dogs so cute so we couldn't get mad at them when they chewed our furniture, went potty on the carpet, etc...Lola's a cutie.
